Milwaukee Astronomical Society Meeting - February

We had a meeting of the MAS tonight at the Charles Z. Horwitz Planetarium at the Retzer Nature Center in Waukesha. The Director of the Planetarium, David Deremer was kind enough to give us a great presentation on Saturn based on data acquired from Cassini Huygens.

Welcome to Infinity Ridge

When I decided to start blogging about my new hobby, astronomy; I toyed around with a lot of different names, from "The Angry Astronomer" to "The Drunken Observer". The former was already used, and the latter was a reference to my beer brewing, but had to much negativity associated with it.

I finally settled on Infinity Ridge, a name my wife Danielle gave to our homeschooling. It goes well with one of my favorite books, "Infinite in All Directions" by Freeman Dyson and seems to suit Astronomy which involves an expanding universe that's infinite in all directions.

Infinity Ridge is the center of the universe. Since there are equal distances in every direction, from every point in the universe, any point in the universe can be considered the center.
